Doodles and seascapes: Canson Montval watercolor sketchbook tour

I started this one as soon as I completed the Moleskine watercolor sketchbook from the previous video – from 2017 to 2019 – mainly for seascapes, doodles, and quick character drawings using watercolor, ink, pens, and colored pencils.

I haven't published scans from this one save for the mermaid I did as a part of the Mermay challenge, but there are photos on my Instagram.

Urban sketching and seascapes: Moleskine watercolor sketchbook tour

I completed one of my sketchbooks that I started back in 2012 and recorded a video of me flipping through the sketchbook and talking about what I did, what art tools I used, what I was learning etc. I used it mainly for quick watercolor cityscapes, city vignettes, seascapes, doodles, and some mixed media experiments.

If you want to get a better look at the images, there are scans of some of the drawings on my main website: Seascapes and urban sketches 2012–2016.

And here are some additional sketches that I posted here:

P.S. I updated my sketchbooks comparison post with many additional sketchbooks I've had the pleasure of testing over the years. I discovered several new favorites, as well as many duds.

Sketchbook update: nature edition

I've found a few scans that I never published here, so I'm doing that today.

Stone arch - ink and watercolor sketch

This is a stone arch by the coffee shop in Kostrena, where I often go for a walk. Brush pen and watercolor sketch.
I cropped the right page because it's mostly empty.

Krk bridge - watercolor sketch

This is the bridge that connects my home island Krk with the land, viewed from the Kostrena beach.

Trees and grass near the beach - watercolor sketch

The last one was from a few days ago when I spent a couple of days hanging out on the beach in my hometown. I also have an instagram shot of the page spread where my boyfriend sketched some geometric patterns on the other page:

True gentleman

Look what the cat dragged in! *ta-dam-tsssssss*

So this is the first share-worthy sketch in my sketchbook number 10, since I've started using it in January this year. Depressing? Perhaps.

Gentleman cat and sleeping beauty ink and watercolor illustration

I drew this cat gentleman (gentlecat?) and the sleeping beauty for a weekly twitter challenge #crtkamo. Ink, watercolor and white gel pen.

Sketchbook update: doodles edition

It's been a while since I updated this blog, it gets challenging since I'm managing two other web sites and a dozen of social networks :) but today I'll share a backlog of my pages featuring mostly colorful doodles.

Art journal page

This page was done for a free course I took back in 2012 I think, and the assignment was to note all the ways we're being creative in our lives. I kinda like how this page turned out.

Ink doodles

Next comes a series of ink doodles I did with a fineliner, and some of them I colored with watercolors. I was doing these for a couple of days until I got bored.

The last one is a mandala done with soft pastels, which is my recent discovery. Just experimenting...
