Sketchbook update: nature edition

I've found a few scans that I never published here, so I'm doing that today.

Stone arch - ink and watercolor sketch

This is a stone arch by the coffee shop in Kostrena, where I often go for a walk. Brush pen and watercolor sketch.
I cropped the right page because it's mostly empty.

Krk bridge - watercolor sketch

This is the bridge that connects my home island Krk with the land, viewed from the Kostrena beach.

Trees and grass near the beach - watercolor sketch

The last one was from a few days ago when I spent a couple of days hanging out on the beach in my hometown. I also have an instagram shot of the page spread where my boyfriend sketched some geometric patterns on the other page:

Sketchbook sharing - Nela's watercolor sketch on the left, David's pen sketch on the right

Sketches from the vacation

Here are a few selected sketches from my recent vacation in my hometown.

Woman reading on the beach watercolor sketch

Pencil and watercolor in a small Moleskine watercolor notebook.

Palm tree ink and watercolor sketch

Brush pen and watercolor in a Canson sketchbook. The shadow is pretty terrible, I know.

Tomorrow, I'll post some fantasy sketches, yay!

Cricket noises everywhere

This place hasn't been updated in a while... I had dedicated the majority of my free time to client projects (this is now changing). I still sketch every single day, but most of it is not very good.
Here are some sketches I did recently. Top left is view from my window in Pilot Parallel pen which doesn't have waterproof ink. Bottom left is again, view from my window, this time in waterproof brush pen. On the right are some things that caught my attention.

Brush pen & watercolor sketches

This following sketch is something I completely about. I couldn't decide whether to draw a boy or a girl so I drew something that was not obviously either. Ang he/she has a huge nose.

Pencil portrait

I have some new sketches on the way. If you'd like to be updated more regularly, you can follow me on instagram :)

Weekend wanderings sketches

I haven't updated this blog in a long time, so here are some selected entries from various short trips I've taken in the past few weeks.

Orchid watercolor sketch

Orchid branch I painted at my parents' place during my Easter visit. Watercolor in a small Moleskine watercolor sketchbook.

Kvarner view from a hill watercolor sketch

View over the Kvarner bay from the hill Veli Vrh I sketched last weekend. Pencil and watercolor in a Canson sketchbook.

Apple tree watercolor sketch

Apple tree in my friend's yard I sketched last weekend when I visited him. Pencil and watercolor in a Canson sketchbook.

If you're wondering what else I've been doing, you might want to check out my post on my other blog: Komfor band logo design process. There are a lot of sketches in that post as well.

Fuzine weekend trip

This weekend I went for a yoga retreat with 9 women from my yoga class. It was wonderful, the best vacation I had since summer. Of course I took a bunch of drawing supplies as I always do, and as usual - not much drawing was done since I barely had the time for it. Here are a couple of quick sketches.

Gazebo in the snow watercolor and ink sketch

View from my room window of a gazebo in the snow. Watercolor and brush pen in a small Moleskine watercolor notebook.

Fuzine and Bajer lake watercolor sketch

Fuzine and Bajer lake watercolor sketch

Fuzine and Bajer lake quick sketch with graphite pencil and watercolor in a Canson sketchbook.

I don't get to update this blog so often, but for the past 2 and a half months I managed to sketch every single day. I'm very pleased with how that's going. The trick was to put it on my task list along with everything else that has to be done.
There's a lot going on right now in terms of projects, but once that's done I'll be able to dedicate my time to my personal work, I hope.
